The Division of Student Affairs, The Division of Equity and Inclusion, and our pilot Supervisors of Student Employees community (which includes staff from Student Affairs, Equity & Inclusion, Undergraduate Education, and the Schools and Colleges), are organizing a series of events for National Student Employee Appreciation Week April 14-18, 2025. - Ways for Student Employees to Save in Roth by Fidelityadd

Description: Hosted by Berkeley Center for Financial Wellness, this session is led by Haiau Ho Nguyen from Fidelity and will help you learn how Roth gives you the opportunity for tax-free income in retirement, who might benefit from Roth contributions, and how to start making Roth contributions.
Who should attend: Those who want to learn more about Roth contributions in the UC Retirement Savings Plan, which student employees can contribute to!
Speaker Bio: Haiau Ho Nguyen, a Fidelity Workplace Financial Consultant, has more than six years with the company. She was previously a relationship manager with Fidelity's Personal Investing Group. Ms. Ho Nguyen promotes financial wellness for plan participants through one-on-one planning and educational events. An investment advisor representative and registered securities representative, Haiau holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Colorado at Denver. Haiau is a bilingual representative who is fluent in Vietnamese.

This workshop helps you as student employees translate the skills you've gained from your current positions onto their resumes and in interviews. Conveniently timed for our graduating senior employees so you’ll be prepared for the Wednesday Just In Time Career Fair.
For Supervisors: Encourage students to attend Berkeley Career Engagement’s professional development webinar on "Communicating Your Student Work Experience" on Monday, April 14·12:00 – 1pm, which will support students in translating the skills they learned in your position on their resumes and in interviews. Some offices are paying their students to attend as part of the NSEW appreciation week and to support professional development.

Berkeley Career Engagement is hosting a panel featuring recently graduated student workers who now work at UC Berkeley. Have you considered working at UC Berkeley after graduation? Learn how to apply and hear tips and real stories from recent graduates about their experiences and the outcomes.
For Supervisors:
Encourage your student workers to attend the joint panel hosted by Berkeley Career Engagement and the UCB Supervisor of Student Employees Community on Monday, April 14, from 3pm to 4pm. This event will feature stories from recently graduated student workers who have found career positions at UC Berkeley. Some offices are even paying their students to attend as part of NSEW appreciation week and to support professional development.

For Students: Graduating senior student employees are encouraged to join this UC Berkeley Career Engagement Fair to network with representatives and explore full-time and internship opportunities. Learn about recruiting timelines and application procedures. No student registration is required. All majors and degree levels are welcome. Bring your UC Berkeley Student ID and copies of your updated resume. Business casual attire is recommended.
For Supervisors: As supervisors for graduating student employees, we can offer assistance in preparing for this event by discussing their goals, emphasizing their strengths, role-playing fair conversations, and providing guidance on business attire.
For Employers: The Just in Time Career & Internship Fair is open to all employers and provides the perfect opportunity to recruit for entry-level career positions, along with summer and internship opportunities. Employers can register via handshake.

About your hosts: Kelly Chang and Natalie Montanez co-lead Research Teaching and Learning’s (RTL) Student Employee Workforce Development program.
